New Baseball Field at Highlands Latin School

Highlands Latin hosted its first baseball game April 12th on our new field at Spring Meadows.   The team played well, and it was a beautiful spring day for a baseball game.  Construction of this field involved hauling in nearly 1000 truck loads of fill dirt, blasting hundreds of yards of rock into a hillside, and building back a stone amphitheater.  The result is, in our unbiased opinion, the most beautiful baseball field in the city. Please join us for a game this season and cheer on the Highlanders.

Thanks to HLS parents Mike Fowler, David Michel, Mike Minahan, Denis Beiter, Joe Pappalardo, and all the other HLS parents who volunteered countless hours to build the field.  Maintenance Director Chris Rogers and Athletic Director Jim Ashby pitched in on almost every part of the construction.  We would also like to thank parent Eric Bean who located the 1000 truck loads of fill dirt and spear-headed the construction of the field with his company, Flynn Brothers Contracting.  They all did a great job.
