9th – 12th Grade Move, Gym Permit

In fall 2015, we plan to move move 9th through 12th grade to Spring Meadows. We know this will be a significant transition for many of our families, and we will work hard to make the move as easy as possible.

To accommodate this move, we will be finishing an additional classroom in the David Cottage, an art and music room in the residence, and new offices, classrooms, and a lunchroom in Cooke Hall. This will be a busy year, but we are excited about the growth in the upper school that is leading to this move.  We will provide additional details about the move throughout this year.

Finally, I emailed you in the spring about plans for a new gym at Spring Meadows. Last week, we received our site permit to begin building the parking lot and pad for the gym. We hope to have the gym completed before the end of 2015.

In the same email, I mentioned that the city was requiring us to install almost $200,000 worth of sidewalks. We did reach a compromise to build a much shorter sidewalk from our entrance to a new TARC stop on our property. Thank you for the support many of you provided in reaching this agreement.
