Academic Common Market

Academic Common Market (ACM) is a cooperative tuition-reduction agreement, among 15 Southern Regional Education Board states.  The ACM enables Kentucky residents to pay in-state tuition at participating public/state-funded colleges and universities.  To be eligible for the ACM, a student must be seeking an undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s) or graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in an academic program that is not comparably offered at a public university in Kentucky.  It is only through the ACM that KEES funds can be used out-of-state.

All Kentucky residents are eligible to participate in the Academic Common Market (ACM). 

Before beginning the ACM residency application process, a student must first confirm their program is approved for ACM and gain acceptance into the approved ACM institution and program for which they are applying.

To complete the KY residency determination process for participation in the ACM and subsequently use KEES funds out-of-state, please access the application requirements on our website:  http://cpe.ky.gov/acm/apply-acm.html

Applications are submitted online.  You will be asked for the following documents during the application submission: 

• KY Driver’s license
• Prior year’s Kentucky tax form (Form 740), first three pages only.  Please do not submit your Federal Form 1040.
• Acceptance letter from institution that specifically mentions ACM-approved major.
