The Highlands Latin Extra

Chicken Pot Pie

No lunch room is complete without a chicken pot pie on the menu.  Here at HLS we’ve included the essentials; chicken, fresh chicken stock, celery, carrots, peas and onions.  Served with our fresh baked schoolhouse rolls, fresh fruit and brownie.  Everybody deserves a little comfort food  now and then.

Tortilla Soup

Tortilla Soup…muy bien!  Our soup has a variety of all-natural flavors including home-made chicken stock, chicken, corn tortillas, black beans, corn, onions, diced tomatoes, garlic and a hint of jalapenos.  Toppings available are cheese, sour cream, and cilantro.  And to round out the meal, we offered a lemon cake with lemon cream cheese icing.

Sloppy Joe

Legend has it that the original Sloppy Joe was invented by a cook named Joe at a small diner located in Sioux City, Iowa.  We stayed true to the original and used ground beef, a tomato based sauce, onions, and bell peppers.  Served with a carrot/celery medley, apple slices, a sugar cookie and of course…a napkin.
