Rising 1st Grade Summer Work and Review Resources

Primary Phonics Readers are to be read in conjunction with your copy of Classical Phonics.

Summer Reading Challenge: Students who complete this journal by the first day of school will be recognized with a certificate at morning assembly.

Summer Manuscript Practice workbook was sent home and is due back the first week of school. Don’t forget your 3 P’s: posture, paper tilt, and pencil grip!

The goal of this workbook is to solidify the letter and number skills that students learned in kindergarten during the summer before first grade, so that they enter first grade without gaps in mastery. Summer Manuscript is arranged in lessons to be completed three times a week during the summer. Each single-page spread has a letter or number review and sentence copy practice. Each worksheet should take about ten minutes to complete.
