EVENT DETAILS

Location: The Gatsby, 524 Main Street, Shelbyville, KY, 40065. Date: Friday, May 26th, 2023.

  • Doors open at 6:45 p.m. for check-in and photo booth.
  • Ballroom will be open for students to begin finding seats at 7 p.m.
  • Buffet style dinner will be served at 7:15 p.m.
  • Dancing will follow dinner.
  • Last dance approximately 10:30 p.m.
  • All students must be out of the venue by 10:45 p.m

TICKETING/COST: 

Online ticket sales will be available from April 3 through May 15. Due to the need to finalize headcount in advance, no online tickets will be available after May 15. Please contact Rebekah Borah at (502) 322-6812 if you have any issues with ticketing. Tickets are $55 per student. *11th and 12th grade are able to bring approved outside date. All dates must be approved by the office.

A “roaring” design meets modern luxury in the one-of-a-kind Event Venue. Located in between Louisville and Lexington right in the heart of downtown Shelbyville, KY, The Gatsby is a gorgeously ornate wedding venue nestled in the diverse heart of Shelbyville, Kentucky. Ball Dress Code

GENTLEMEN

  • Please wear a traditional suit, coat and tie, or tuxedo.
  • Shirts must remain buttoned and tucked in.
LADIES

 

  • Please wear a formal dress.
  • Please avoid:
    • Hemlines or slits in gowns higher than 2 inches above the knee
    • Plunging necklines/backs or sheer/see-through material
    • Backless (waistline falling below the natural waistline).
    • Midriff baring garments or garments with cut outs
    • Inappropriate, revealing, or excessively tight garments

The following standards from the parent handbook apply to girls’ dress at dances as well:

  • Girls’ hair should be neat, out of the eyes, and not dyed unnatural color.
  • Girls may not have tattoos.” In addition, makeup should be within the bounds of natural colors.
  • Girls are free to choose more elaborate jewelry and accessories for dances.
  • Face paint is fine for the fall costume dance only.
  • If there is any possibility your outfit may be judged inappropriate by HLS faculty, please ask for approval from Mrs. Hanel.
