Pre-College Programs & Courses for Upper School Students
Pre-College Programs and Courses are offered to varying grade levels typically in the “high school” years. It provides an opportunity for a student to develop their understanding and awareness of college and university types and experiences. Sometimes these types of programs even offer students the opportunity to attain college credit (which may be transferable to other schools) or scholarships to their college.
Programs are organized alphabetically by college / university name, please always double check posted deadline and details. Programs that are closed will be updated in red lettering. This is not a comprehensive list; if there is a school you are interested in please investigate their available summer offerings!
- 9-12th GRADERS: Asbury University’s Youth Becoming Leaders& ImpactU Camps (Wilmore, KY)
- Eligibility Criteria:
- YBL: Students who show strong academic promise (GPA 3.3 or higher) and interest in scripture + theology, serve in leadership in school or church, are actively discerning their calling and/or feeling called into vocational ministry.
- IU: Students choose one subject area to study for the entire week and enjoy academic sessions led by experienced faculty and talented college students’ multiple times each day.

- Cost: $1,250* *Students who successfully complete Boyce Academy will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship upon full-time residential enrollment at Boyce College in the fall of their freshman year. Students can receive an additional scholarship for each year they attend Boyce Academy.

- 11th GRADERS: Elon University’s (Elon NC) Exposure & Immersion-Emerging Journalists Program
- What: Participants in the Exposure experience get access to virtual educational opportunities throughout spring 2026 to learn about journalism and communications careers. High school juniors who successfully take part in the Exposure experience are also invited to apply for the Immersion experience, a 12-day, experiential learning workshop on Elon University’s campus with travel, lodging, meal and instructional expenses paid for by EJP.

- Rising 10th-12th GRADERS: Gettysburg College’s Summer Camp: Young Civil War Historians Conference, Camp Psych, The College Experience Camp at Gettysburg College (Gettysburg, PA)

- What: students will explore the Academy grounds, experience cadet life, and participate in a variety of hands-on STEM activities. Workshop topics include human physiology, fuel cell cars, propellants, robotics, cantilevers, soldering circuits, fish biodiversity, water chemistry, meteorology, egg drop engineering, data analytics, and more.

- RISING 11th & 12th GRADERS: University of Dayton’s Female Aspiring Business Scholars (FABS) Summer Program and UD’s Summer Engineering Experiences
- FABS: four-day overnight camp offered by UD’s School of Business Administration that provides young women hands-on learning through team projects, leadership experience, career exploration and mentorship. Campers will build skills essential for success in college and business, connect with peers and experience life as a UD student.
- Engineering: offered by our School of Engineering, provide students with an opportunity to explore the diverse fields of engineering, computer science and physics and learn more about these programs at UD through interactive modules and hands-on lab experiences. At our three daylong camps on June 15, 16 and 17, participants will learn about specific disciplines in engineering, computer science and physics while striving to solve problems our world faces today.

- Rising 12th GRADERS: The University of Kentucky’s Department of Civil Engineering – Summer Engineering Exploration Kamp (SEEK)
- What: One-week residential camp at UK; will feature hands-on learning opportunities, guest speakers from engineering companies, and field trips to active project sites.UK civil engineering college students will serve as mentors. Students will engage in activities to learn the fundamentals of civil engineering.

- CURRENT 9th-12th GRADERS (KY students): University of Louisville’s Young Leaders Academy offered through The McConnell Center (Louisville, KY)
- What: Four-day, all-expense-paid summer residential program at the University of Louisville for KY students who have completed at least one year of high school. The theme is “Revisiting American Constitutionalism”; sessions led by faculty, staff, students at UofL as well as other experts in the field of American founding
